Greilick/Detroit News) After helping Michigan win the NIT Season Tip-Off championship in New York, the Wolverines' Nik Stauskas was named Big Ten freshman of the week on Monday. Stauskas, a 6-foot-6 guard, averaged 12.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in victories over Pittsburgh and Kansas State at Madison Square Garden. Though he is a reserve, Stauskas had a huge impact on Michigan's offense, hitting 50 percent (7-of-14) on field goals and 42 percent (3-of-7) on 3-pointers and converting all eight free-throw attempts.
