By The Detroit News Comments Americans, understanding the special blessing of our nation, have always been a grateful people. We recognize both the rich bounty of the land and our unshakeable commitment to individual liberty and freedom make us unique on the Earth. We also know that there is a difference between gratitude and a sense of entitlement. Thankfulness only has value if it's offered with the sincere acknowledgement that we have received a gift.
